Sheridan Memorial Dedication
On June 4th 2016, members of OVMA, American Legion Riders Post 10 Albany and North Santiam Eagles #3384 rode to the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch for the purpose of making a donation in the name of our lost Brother, Thomas L. White. The ride started in Stayton then others joined in at the Maples Rest Area, Marion Forks Restaurant and finally at the Ranch. Upon arrival we were greeted with bottles of cold water (greatly appreciated as temp was in the low 90's) and given a tour of the facilities.
All of us were very impressed with the progress Ranch volunteers have made. Construction is proceeding nicely and it is expected that the Ranch will be ready for it's first residents sometime late this summer or early fall.
By invitation of the Mill City 4th of July Committee, members of several OVMA chapters and the American Legion Riders, Post 10 from Albany, help Mill City in it's annual 4th of July celebration by riding in the parade.
The weather was great, the company awesome and as one member noted, "What a privilege it was to ride in this small All-American Patriotic city! All along the parade route as the colors passed most people stood with their hand over their heart with many veterans saluting. Nice to see the America I grew up in."
Thank you Mill City. We hope we are invited back next year!
